Looks to be something on the coin, it's a spender. Either that or a bad case of zinc rot but in going with forign substance, either way just a spender.

Either a zinc bubble or possibly a die chip.
It's a spender whichever it is.

Waste of time showing images of tiny imperfections like this on Zincolns.

Might even just be something "on" the coin.

I dont agree with Coinfrog. You have to cut your teeth somewhere. If op didnt ask, they would never learn. I thought the whole point of the community was to share knowledge and help out the new people just starting out. You say it's a waste of time because you've seen this a thousand times. I think your response could've been a little more helpful while still getting your point across. If he knew what it was, he wouldnt have gone through the process of posting it. To seasoned members on here about 95% of the posts could be considered a waste of time. If these so called wastes of time were never shared and discussed, it would cause a whole bunch of people wasting time with common issues on coins and the experts wouldnt have a whole lot of things to share their expertise on. That would probably leave a huge void in the lives of a lot of these experts I would surmise.

Possible split plating on that area. When the zinc is exposed, then the plating will rise above the designs. Just referred to as "Zinc Rot." Not a premium for the coin. The opposite is happening, the coin is breaking down.
