Can't remember if it was in a bank roll or in change back, but came across this guy the other day and for a circulated '83, I thought it looked way better than some from the mid '80s! Then I noticed the columns! Is this the zinc monster trying to come out and/or damage? Just wanted to get everyone's opinion!

Over polished die and some PMD. Also has a lot of plating roughness.

The 1983/1984 cents had a lot of issues with fie clashes. The over polishing happened a lot too strong on the dies, thus it is more common to see these altered dies on those two dates. Die polishing at its worst. Note even the columns are also reduced in size. Just something that happened a lot at that time. No premium, just an answer as to what you are seeing.
