Not sure if these is the right forum but here goes. When people post graded coins on ebay for sale or auction why do some of the pictures have a blue tint? Is it the lighting they use when talking the picture? Does it show the coin better or are they trying to hide somthing? I feel it makes it harder to evaluate the coin.

Camera white balance and light sources used to take photos can have all kinds of impacts on image quality. It's not limited to coins. Stamps, post cards, maps, books, and trading cards can appear 'off', as well as many other items.

smsgtdaves I have the strobe working . this is where the blue light will really bring out the differences. that is on the surface of the coins. also for those who like to know you have more choices. all you do is buy there filter kit. let me tell you its quite costly. some color are more easy to see the differences. I prefer red very light red. my light is made by a company called. Schott out of Germany. so far looks great.
