2009 Lincoln Cent - Double Ear?

I was going through a few rolls of these and came across this Cent. There appears to be some type of doubling on the lower earlobe. Any opinions on what it could be will be appreciated.

Note the area you are looking at is showing an incuse mark on that device. That is not a doubled ear, it is a damaged normal ear. If it were a doubled die, it would be raised, on the devices or on the fields. Not a doubled die:

What should I see on a doubled ear, that shows it is a die issue? Will it really need be raised above the fields and the design of the ear?
