So I'm finally going to go spend money on a loupe. I don't have lots of money but want to get something good at the same time. Online shows they have some at hobby lobby and Target though not sure if magnefication they have or that I need. If there is not some specific brand or kind could you please st least tell me positively the number I need it to magnify to? Please and thank you

I feel that anything higher than 14x distorts the image. I use a 12x and a 14x doublet most times and it is a no brand. I also have a 14x Hastings Triplet that is high quality but gives a small area to view,it cost me around $25 and the no brand doublets were under $10 each.
B&M is a good brand,that is my 14x triplet.

I don't use a loupe. Instead, I use an old hobby-grade microscope eyepiece--magnification is around 10X. Also use a 'linen tester' (nice, full image) with a magnification of 5X. Only when absolutely needed, I use a 40X standing microscope intended for use in the graphic arts industry. For me, loupes are too restricted in their field of view. That's just me.

I too, use a nice microscope over a loupe. It is far easier to view the coin without any eye strain.
