Here's two 1963D dimes. They have the same obv. & rev. markers.
Check out the initials. Same damage?
My question is.
When and how did it happen?
I'm trying to picture the when and how. I can sorta see if it was just one coin, ok the initials took a hit. But there's two coins with the same ( damage?)
I've left more glare on the JS so to highlight.

Those are striation lines. (like the edge of a knife. Something used in forensics to identify a certain knife blade) the Machine Doubling scratched them onto the devices from die move after the strike. Thus they may have been struck by the same dies. Machine Doubling is not always an exact match on each strike:

Note the markers on this coin and you see the MD different on each one. These came out the same original rolls.
