This coins has what I have assumed is a lamination issue but I am really not sure what this is. On the obverse of the coin running from the W in we through Lincolns forehead down through the date. I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Thank you.

That is a delamination of the surface layer, you are correct. It is pretty common, but neat nonetheless.
