Going through a roll of uncirculated 1968S and I'm finding many coins like showing in the photographs. Hopefully the photographs are good enough for viewing.
Are these of the double die varieties?

Appears to be Machine Doubling, not a DDO

Dearborn, the MM appears doubled to me. I'm not sure if it would be called a RPM or not.
So, would you say that Machine Doubling is worth much of nothing?

Dearborn, a lot of these coins have chips inside the curls of the S mint mark... I'm figuring that it's just normal and not a clear S mint mark.

Very common medium bounce Machine Doubling issue. Very common on 1968-1972. A doubled die can have Machine Doubling, but Machine Doubling never makes a doubled die. A doubled die is created only on a die that have hub doubling on the die.

Coop, those are some nice images you provided.
What the heck is a double die than?
If Machine Doubling is not a double die than what's a double die.
I'm guessing the only true examples are the 1969S and 1955 Lincoln's.
I thought I knew the differences but I'm sad to say that I do not.

As coop says a doubled die is when the die imprint is doubled. Machine Doubling is when the die either moves or the planchet moves during the strike.
