Got this PCGS graded 1958 silver dollar about a year ago on the Bay. Just curious as to your opinions on the grade. I'll upload the actual grade later today.

From the photos, especially the Obverse, it's really hard to tell. I see a little wear in her hair and some on the totem. I'll say AU 50, but could be way off, given that the photos aren't very clear.

Tough call, but I'll say AU-50 as well.

Hard to tell from the photo of the obverse, but I'll say AU-50 based what looks like wear on the totem. The 1958 I own has a weakly struck obverse, which is might be the case here too but hard to tell.

Thanks everyone for commenting! My camera setup didn't do this coin justice... Next time I'll get a bigger budget for taking shots.

I think I have to change the grade on some of my coins.

Can you tell what year that coin was graded? I'm very skeptical that it would receive that grade today, or even close. It sure looks like wear in her hair just in front of her ear, as well as the totem. Maybe a weak strike and maybe the coin was stored improperly before you got it.

No way that would ever grade 65 by Canadian Standards .

Hmmm. I think the general consensus is that PCGS dropped the ball when grading this coin? I don't see any indications of tampering - I'm not sure on the logistics of replacing coins in a PCGS slab. Please let me know if there is any way I can indicate that this coin is genuine.
