1875 S Trade Dollar PMD Or Mint Error

I posted the coin for grade thoughts but curious if anyone has any idea whats going on with the wing .
Under magnification it looks more Tiered .
It fits the shape of the wing and is raised above the surrounding field .
Does not look smashed . It looks very distinct from the wing .
Maybe its PMD but it sure looks different to me. Though I am no expert.
This coin is interesting already for the very tilted S Mint Mark and that the date is very High and to the right.

I don't see how these steps which reduce the width of the wing could be anything but damage. It certainly isn't just circulation wear though.
