Hi everyone. I pulled this from an uncirculated set and thought it was a grease strike through, which it may be - but I saw copper exposed. Further, one of the pictures shows multiple "hits" or indents at and above Liberty Hall and markings going all the way up to the rim.

Looking carefully, one may call this PMD, but it was in the cello and there was no damage to the cello.

I suppose I cannot literally prove that it's not PMD, but assuming this is not PMD, could this be a grease strike through plus some sort of mint damage? Or something else entirely?

I should note that I am not assuming I found something unique with huge premiums, I just want to know what this is and how it happened straight from the mint cello. Thanks!

Some coins in the cello packages may have gotten damaged while being transported from the striking area in bins and bags to the packaging area.
But the one with the copper chowing, looks lie a damaged planchet to me.

Looks like some soft debris with grease in and grit in it was struck onto the coin. Not a plus for the coin, but a negative. It would have been a nice coin without it.
