Hi everyone, first time om the VAM forum. I found this and a 1921 P in a customer wrapped roll at a teller station in my bank last year. I posted them as "My first Morgans ever" on the regular forum. Have been busy with life for a while and thought I would check them out for vam`s. I think this is a VAM 7 if you could check for me please, thank you. I know she`s ugly and looks like she`s been in a knife fight, but she`s still pretty to me.

Looks like VAM-7 from what I can tell. Closed 9, remnants of doubling at bottom of 6, MM high and tilted right. Can't see the doubling beneath the 9 but assume you can.

Yes bump111 it has the doubling under the 9 also. Thx for the confirmation. Wasn't sure I was going to get an answer. So would the grade on this be pretty bad? And should I put this in acetone?

Acetone won't hurt the coin and may get some grime/goo off. VAM-7 carries little premium as far as I can tell, so I would treat this as any other Morgan in this condition. I couldn't give you an accurate grade, but it would be a details coin with the issues we can see. There are VAMmers on this site who are much more experienced that am I. They may chime in with opinions at some point.

You obviously have the eye and desire for these varieties, so have fun with it!

Thx bump111, really appreciate the time and info. I do like the Morgan's, and this VAM was easy. Don't know how I'll do with my 1921 after seeing the list. Just wish I had more of them, but they're so expensive.
