I'm getting close to completing a special Indian Head cent set. Here's my latest acquisition. Post your latest IHC acquisition, regardless of grade. Steve

Beautiful example! If the color in the pics is accurate, though, I'm a little surprised at the RB designation. Sure looks red to me... Nothing to post myself, though I am actively looking for at least one proof Indian Head cent example to add to my type set. Hopefully will have something to share soon!

I bought this coin with a CAC from a collector, and then submitted it to Rick for his Photo Seal. Rick said the coin is 85% red, which I agree sounds right. Rick's photos tend to be a little brighter than the coin in hand. Look for a PM regarding your second point. Steve

Your IHC make me drool! I would post a picture of an IHC but that would be like parking a yugo next to a Rolls.

Thanks for your kind comments above, but every coin with positive eye appeal, regardless of grade, has beauty! Just think - while no one probably handled my coin, as it spent its entire life in a roll or some other non-fun way, coins in lower grades have stories to tell, or at least for us to imagine! Who handled these 150 years ago? What did they buy? How far did they travel? We don't know the specific answers, but we can imagine and fantasize, knowing that in fact there ARE stories that coin can share if it could speak! Those coins have beauty!

jbuck - 1. You're "The Man". Now I know how to fix this situation on other sites! 2. Real nice color and luster for the grade!

@Jbuck, your 1908-S displays the classic San Francisco coin "look". The Woody and lighter bronze are all characteristics of an original coin. The alloy used in SF wasn't as good as the one used in Philadelphia, and many SF coins will tone to a golden orange color. That is if they are in the natural state. Very nice. I like it.
