Now I've got some god awful paperwork out of the way, I can start going through what I've got as far as duplicates are concerned. I have these two lovely 1901 pennies, but think I might sell one of them. Which would you say was the better? One has far nicer lustre, but the other looks a bit sharper...I think. The first one I can see a partial finger print of on closer examination. How can you tell if a coin has been cleaned? Is it an obvious thing? Report this Post to the Staff

Slightly more attractive toning would not affect my decision to prefer one over the other, but I expect other opinions may differ. But to be honest, there is not much to choose between them. Keep them both, if you have no need to sell either, or only one of them. Nothing wrong with keeping duplicates if both are nice. Report this Post to the Staff
