I wonder what everybodys best find from a vending machine is? My best was a 1912 nickel in vf. I got it from a Coke machine in 1992. I also got my first 1938 Jefferson nickel from a Coke machine back in '73. I was very excited to receive such a treasure back in change! (I was only 11 years old then) I have gotten various other Buffalo nickels and silver from time to time... But I really doubt I'll ever top that 1912!

I havent found anything good yet. I do walk by the change machine at work and dump a $10 every now and then just to get a fist full of coins lol! Its pretty sad, but it gets searched then dumped in the jar and back to the bank. Kind of a savings plan :)

I'll keep looking, but nothing good yet.

My best find is a 1998 Krona from Sweden in BU. Not the best find, but still an unexpected substitution for a quarter (especially since you'd think that the electromagnetic signature would have caused the coin to be rejected).

The only good find I've ever found at a vending machine is when your walking by and you spot a quarter or a nickel someone left in the money tray and your like "Ah sweet!"

Plus its also cool when the machine gives you two cokes by mistake, or in my case, Mountain Dew.

I Love Mountain Dew.

I went thru a unattended toll booth last week and saw a coin in the coin reject slot. I stopped and took it out and it was a 1954 quarter. I have a small baggie of coins I have gotten the same way in the past 4 or 5 years.
