Hello, I am looking at this coin and I sure want to say doubled die....but I've been fooled from these years of coins.

This is certainly doubling, and may be a listed die. But generally these are now considered master die doubling so it gets a bit confusing. It is a doubled die if just one die is doubled, but if the master die is where the doubling was created the there are loads of coins with the doubling, all with different die markers and all that. You definitely have a coin with some doubling, but whether it is a doubled die or master die doubling is an unsettled question.

Ok, without a doubt... Variety Vistas 1968 S DDO-001 is a dead ringer. Hard getting around those die gouges under the left base.

It is listed on some sites, but if is not a real doubled die, but a doubled working hub that creates these non doubled dies:

Quote:
1968-P,D,S 1¢ WWHO-001 Doubled Working Hub
Description: A very slight CW spread shows on the LIBE of LIBERTY. A spread towards the rim shows on IGWT.
Die Markers: The obverse and reverse die markers will vary with each affected working die.
Submitted By: Various individuals.
Cross References: None known
Comments: Numerous working dies for all three Mints were created with this doubled working hub including S-Mint proof dies.
