I am personally not an expert on 1955 DDO cents, but I'm guessing you should always be wary of fakes, as there are many. This example on ebay is unauthenticated, and although it doesn't look particularly fake to me, I was just wondering what y'alls opinions would be.

Questionable. Really need to see a full, large image of the reverse. Bogus '55 DDOs can have 'horrible' reverses.

Look at the jacket? Never noticed that area was affected before:

"coins from grandpa" are almost always fake. ebay sellers with little/no feedback are almost always bogus. Puzzle solved.

Wouldn't trust this slab in any way. You have this coveted coin and you don't have it properly graded? Walk away.

I would but it just to get it off the streets. At least I would know it was fake. I would hate to think that someone would but it thinking it was real

It looks pretty like a good DDO 55. Only problem is you are going to pay big money to bid on the coin and then send it out to be graded. I don't think so. Everyone is right. It you want to bid on a great coin, let's make sure it is certified first. I would sleep better at night. Unless you like gambling, lol.

Thanks, not that I was even considering bidding on it. I was just trying to learn something. Coop, when you mentioned the jacket, did you mean that it was doubled? And LevelsOfMadness, what was wrong with the letters? I compared this picture with a TrueView of a genuine one, and couldn't see anything really off about those particular letters. Could you, um, what's the word... Sorry... I'm typing what I'm thinking... Oh yeah, could you elaborate on that? Thanks.
