Can anyone help me understand what type of error this is and if it is desirable ? There is a scrape on the reverse on the T and E in united ( on the E there is a scrape near middle of letter) and also at bottom on coin on letters E N and T

Not an error. That is known as "Split Plate Doubling"
It adds no value to the coin.

@ree, first welcome to CCF. Second, I agree that you split plate doubling on this cent. The thin copper plating isn't fully covering the underlying zinc core.

with above - you can see the zinc core showing through where the copper plating broke open during the strike.
