A couple more bits of nerdy trivia.

The Wanamaker family also sponsored the one-mile race in the Millrose Games. The Wanamaker Mile is still one of the great trophies in sport.

The Wanamaker Department Store in New York City at Broadway and Eighth was where the Marconi wireless was located that received the wireless reports from the R.M.S. Titanic.
