Not sure how to post pictures but there is what appears to be a die crack running through Jefferson's hair. I can tell it is not a scratch because it looks like it is sewn through it.

Given pictures provided, I'm seeing displaced metal on the sides of a divot.
Sorry but just looks like damage.

this is damage - not necessarily a scratch but rather the coin took a hit by some kind of sharp serrated tool or knife.

Full photos already as mentioned in your other post, and I must agree with other comments above, this looks like just post mint damage (sorry).

Why is this not a die error? These devices are deep into the die. So there is less contact that could affect that area. On the highest points on the design on a coin, they are the first to be affected. 99% of the incuse marks on coins are damage to the coin, not a die issue. Question: Are cart marks and door dings you get into your cars doors, a factory error. Of did it happen outside of the factory? Same with coins, they are likely to be affected post strike.
