My ancestor kept about 25 of the 1858 Flying Eagle cents again most are low grade, and the example below is the only one showing the distinct lines of the tail feathers too bad it has a large scratch across the obverse. Don't know why he didn't keep high grades examples. Oddly he kept (and I still have) about 35 Seated Liberty quarters that are so worn no dates are visible, the same with 30 Shield nickels, about 50 Seated Liberty dimes. All of the coins were in a bag banging into each other for at least 50 years I am aware of until I separated them about 3 years ago (at the beginning of the pandemic when we had the lockdown).
