Thought I'd share one of my buffalo's showing pretty bad PMD. It appears whoever did this took their time doing it, as it looks to me like they missed scratching the device and the rim, for the most part, on the obverse, then gave up on the reverse.

It looks like someone was trying to etch out the field around the bust with a awl or some other scratching implement

I'd love to have it in a 2x2 as a curiosity. Perhaps intended to become a hobo nickel, but the attempt stalled at the start.
