Hello again. I came across this dime and noticed something was going on in the rim area. I did a little research and found a topic posted here on the exact coin. A 1999 dime with the same thing. Someone else also chimed in on that topic saying that they had the same thing on another 1999 dime. I would have posted on that topic but the thread was locked. I was wondering since possibly three of these 1999 dimes have been found like this, what could it be?

Looking too hard for something that is like minor blemish on the coin. Nothing for a premium there. Could be a slight amount of grease on the gutter area of the die. Not a big thing.

No DDR's listed on dimes that whole decade on the Listings on V.V. Could be a skuff mark from a coin counter? Who knows. Just a coin damage issue.

Thanks coop, this is where I was at with it. I had my money on some type of post mint mechanical distortion. Thank you. This forum rocks.
