I am 99% certain I will be ordering the 7188 as soon as Wizard gets it. It should serve the proof pair well enough.

I have no intention of acquiring the P&D issues of these dollars, so the 8188/8189 album pair is a non-starter. It seems I need to abandon hope of an album to hold the proof and reverse proof only.

I do want to keep each design side-by-side in the pages, so buying two date-set albums (one for proof, the other for reverse proof) is off the table. Just as well, buying those probably means waiting until 2023.

I think I'll wait a bit to see how the 8188 with proofs album will look like first.
If the 8188 and 8189 are both eight page albums, it would think the would include both proofs unless they had fewer holes per page.

I really would like to see the page layouts for any of them first...

You could do the P&D series in seven 16-hole pages (with all 112 holes being used) if not for the 2018 introductory coin. I really hope they put those on their own page regardless of the album. The 7188 has been confirmed to be eight pages. I would hate for the eighth page be 16 holes with two labeled spots for the 2032 Northern Mariana Islands dollars.

Just got my 7188 in the mail. It is very nice. Time to start breaking into some mint packaging.

Outstanding!

Can you share some photos of the page layouts?

Thank you!

What does the last page look like? Does it have blank holes?

Ugh! Not sure why they have to do this to us.

What, if anything, are you planning to put into those holes?

I am less excited than I was earlier today.

I won't have to figure that out until 2032

I got my 2018's in. Now I have to decide if it is worth it to try to keep/store the mint packaging...

I have kept all my OGP materials in storage boxes since I cracked the first proof sets in the 1990s. You can always throw it out later, but you can never get it back without cost.

I am now reconsidering getting two date set albums. It is possible they will be able to not have any blank holes at the end, assuming they put the 2018 coin in a single hole taking two rows like the do (albeit with two holes) the 7188.

Finally spoke to Dansco today and got the update/info on the 8188 and saw the album: 8188 Innovation Dollars with P,D & S proof, from 2018-2024 is a 7-page book in a 1 ¼" binder so it will fit into a 1 ¼" slipcase. There are 3 coins per state, a p, d and s proof only so no room was made for the s reverse proof with pre printed dates under the holes. The last page has 2024 missouri with 6 extra portholes that are not titled that can be used for anything. This album is done and available now in stock from Dansco so just ask your dealer/seller to order it from them now if the seller does not have any yet in stock. After explaining, they will at least so far make a title page (Innovation Dollars) on a single page that will have 12 additional holes with no dates/titles under portholes that should be ready in 3 weeks or so, and this could be added to the album to make 18 holes total to use for s reverse proofs but wont have the dates/titles again pre printed. I did mention about making a S proof/S reverse proof only album so that people who bought the P&D only might have a pre printed album for those, but no plans are yet in the works.

Currently they plan on doing album 7189 (Date set) and 8189 (the second proof book) in late 2023. In the future its beneficial to call and let them know what/how you want to collect prior to the albums being made when a question like this comes up vs only posting as this could have changed what they made, and I let them know it was a bit hard to reach them via email and phone.

If this or the 7188 P&D only doesn't work which has been out over a month now, the alternative I found is the caps album which DOES have proofs and reverse proofs. There is a video here if you have never seen or owned one of these (air tites in an album, so really good and has good feedback overall but going to be expensive due to also needing the air-tite capsules for each coin and is thicker than a typical album). https://www.capsalbums.com/ One other interesting feature is that these caps albums can be customized so might work in other situations where typical albums fail us.

There is also always the choice to just use labels which is cheaper. As an example, For the title of the pages use Avery #18660 address label, and for each of the coins use Avery #18667 return address label both are clear. You can download the template from their website. Example of a collector who used it for innovation dollars.

Thank you for the update. I am 95% certain I will go with my plan to get two date set albums, one each for proof and reverse proof. I do not mind waiting almost another year for them. I am already being forced to wait for the Women Quarters album.

This album is done and available now in stock from Dansco

I just went to the Dansco site and it shows "Out of Stock" as it had for quite a while.

Do you have another link to the 8188?

Even Wizard coin supply does not yet have it..
