Afternoon all,

Hope you're all well.

Just acquired this nice little halfpenny. But two questions:

Is it a 3 over 2 in the date?

Are there signs of minor corrosion around the face of Victoria which may have been cleaned?

Personally, I don't see any signs of cleaning. Beautiful example.

Doesn't look cleaned to me.
Heavy die cracks and Die Deterioration, possibly rusted dies?

I see the mark under the left side upper of the 3, but not below the right upper loop of the 3, and all 1853/2 the 8 is also strongly repunched to the north, and there is usually heavy recutting/repunching on the C in VICTORIA and the T, I, and A in GRATIA.

Lovely example in my opinion.

Thanks both.

I seem to have a fixation with whether things have been cleaned or not. It's unhealthy.

Nice original AU-53 coin. Does not appear to have been cleaned.
