Hi I have a 85 D quater I believe is doubling error on the reverse side of coin the eagle claw on Right side, the E Pluribus, quater dollar, the front of coin the in god we trust area. I'm new to this just started looking at my pocket change.

you will probably need closer, more clear photos for an accurate assessment. From what can see I'm not noticing any doubling, looks like a fairly circulated 85 quarter dollar. The surfaces look a little odd to me but that's probably the lighting.

There may be machienes doubling but it also may just be glare. There would be no added value for machienes doubling though.

Where do you see doubling? Looks like this is just a very tired, worn out coin to me.

@com, first welcome to CCF. Second, those areas you describe look like circulation flattening to me although there is a chance that these features were struck a little broadly due to a light layer of grease in the die.

A lot of circulation flattening going on. That area is one of the higher points and more subject to flattening.

i see a strange wear pattern - the pocked marked appearance, possibly due to a caustic environment, also may be a grease strike above the left wing (on the right side) but not seeing any doubling.
