1898 Netherlands 2 1/2 Gulden

Hi. I'm gonna go with AU-50, but I'd wait for more answers if I were you. I'm still learning and I tried a lot not too mislead you with my grading. I wanted to go with XF-45, but I just I didn't find enough convincing reasons to go down to XF-45. I chose AU-50 because I see all the details of the coins I only see the loss of detail on the surface of some parts of the coin. For example the arrows held by the lion are not sharp enough, but at the same time that's the biggest problem I see in downgrading the coin. You took the picture with the flash on so I cannot see the areas covered by the flash light. Take more pictures if you can. I'll study the coin a bit more to see what's the grade, but for now I stand with AU-50 with the not so good pictures you have provided.

Very grainy pics, and the 1898 2.5G pieces often looked to have lived hard lives... but from the surfaces and legend lettering, not totally convinced that piece is genuine. Fakes of the type do exist.

With the new photos, this one looks more like an EF-40 to me.
