Been looking through coins lately and I found this very weird 1982 penny. I'm not sure if it's damaged or an actual error. Any help?

Not an error, that couldn't happen during the striking of the cent.
Damaged, probably by heat

This is called a CENT, and it's been damaged post mint by heat.
