What Should I Make Of These Two Error Coins?

Both appear damaged to me rather than error coins.

Nothing there that can be called an error.
The nickel is badly damaged and the cent is so worn you
can't even make out the date.
When posting, please indicate what you think may be an error
so that we can tell you if you are right or wrong.

Put them in a box with trash coins.
P.S.We also need to make such a box for ourselves. Do all collectors have it ?

I much prefer to put these coins back in circulation and/or the hands of other collectors .... novices preferred. Old coins stimulate curiosity and ideally result in fostering new collectors. I've often handed old and odd coins to kids at shows or elsewhere. I've made a practice of spending some or leaving some coins among restaurant tip money. Another ploy of mine is to include small groups of old coins among the coin club door prizes.

It seems to me that many folks enjoy finding old coins, despite the fact that some folks consider them trash! BTW, some of my best acquisitions have been found in dealer "junk" boxes. like a 1793 Wreath cent, an 1873-CC quarter and an 1862 Merrimac token! On the downside, given almost 70 years of collecting coins, I've NEVER made a worthy circulation find!!

I spend these 'trash coins' as someone called them. Nothing like the joy of spending one and watching people's faces when they notice them. I've watched the joy on kid's faces and watched adults go pale when they see me spend it and sneak it right under teh register.

Hahaha...I'm definitely a novice 😅. Makes sense why I see value in them, but you are right...why not pass them on a let another who would want them have them...I seen so many strange coins, but yet none are the big kahuna that I would like to encounter. Still hopeful though lol
