some of the 'drooling George' quarters have been found to be caused by a die clash. I would start my search there. Then if no match to a reverse design, then could be normal die chips. However of your coins will go a long way to helping you (front and back - full coin images are needed then any close-ups of the mouth area). In this topic here I think a few images of each coin for comparison purposes would not hurt.
