Thank you! I agree, it is definitely one of the greatest coin designs, along with the 1927 Parliament House. Your MC is very nice!

Your MC is very nice! Thanks! I won't post it in this topic as I didn't purchase it, it was part of my father's estate.

No worries, I'll post my other one I am waiting on in the mail when it arrives, if you would be interested in seeing it.

My only Australian coin is this 1927 Parliament House florin. Otherwise I stick to French coins for my collection - although I do enjoy looking at the coins from all over the world that show up in CCF, including Australia/NZ. The few exceptions I make are based mainly on exceptional beauty properties, and when I first saw this coin, I knew it was time for one of those exceptions . There is something about the symmetry of the parliament house and all the elements around it and how they are balanced, which makes it irresistible!

Coinanthebarb - I am worried about that Florin, there a few signs suggesting you have a Chinese fake there.
1. The edge of the King's robe does not touch the edge of the coin. 2. Lack of detail on the hand on the horse's body 3. Poor mane detail on the horse. 4. Lack of detail on the torso 5. Gray whizzed dull appearance on coin surface
Can I ask where you got this coin from?
I could be wrong, but I get a bad feeling about this.

Well its borderline. Max Stern is an established dealing group (Mr Stern passed a while ago) and I doubt they would willingly sell fakes.
But that coin does look a bit susso, I would go back there and ask them where they got that coin from and get some authenticity for it, because sometimes I have had "reputable" dealers sell me fakes and any worth their salt will refund you.

The Florins have arrived! Early results - 10 Canberras, 20 non Canberras - all have readable dates and none are fake or damaged. All are Sterling silver from the time of King George V. More soon.
