Roosevelt Dimes Font Change On Dates. Observation.

hewart Valued Member United States 157 Posts	Posted 07/16/2022 4:44 pm OK... Just caught this today. It appears that there may have been a change in the font used for the number 2 in the dates. Here is what I found. Before the year 2002 the number 2 had a definite curl in it. Dates after that, it appears to change and stayed that way all the way through the current date. Here are photos. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 07/17/2022 8:37 pm The area on the last zero on the 2000 dime, can be a slight Grease Fill, or coin wear from circulation. Neither are collectable. When comparing try using the same date to see differences for Machine Doubling or doubled dies. Dates do vary in sizes on different dies. Even on the same year, the devices can be smaller if the die experienced polishing. The more the number the smaller the devices can become. (reduction of the fields make the devices shorter in height because the devices are tapered at the top and wider at the bottoms) Report this Post to the Staff
