When I was a kid (in the 80's) I found a "silver" Lincoln Cent that had an image of the space shuttle stamped/engraved in front of Lincoln's face...it was just a souvenir coin but I was ecstatic and sent it to my grandmother who put it "away" for me. The coin is now long gone but I remember it vividly. Anyway...I was just curious as to what everyone's best find was? By best find I mean as in your change received, found on the ground-not while coin roll hunting or while attending a show etc. P.S. I also started a topic similar to this one in the paper money and banknote forum regarding everyone's best bill find. Edited by dreamstones 02/13/2009 06:41 am

1963 got a BU 1938-d Walker in change at a bank, asked if they had any more in the tray. they had just opened a brand new roll, got them all at face; sold them later for $5 each to a coin store and thought I had made a killing. Wish I still had them now.

My best find in circulation used to be my 1941 Mercury dime even though now its probably my 1911 liberty head nickel. As far as numbers, I don't know which one would be more rare in circulation.

Hmmmm...my best circulation find....It's hard to say. I've been very lucky with coin finds, but the best find that I've had not while roll hunting would have to be the full $5 roll of silver Roosies I got in my register while working at a fast food place in Fresno CA 9 years ago.

When I was six I found a 1943 silver half dollar in the neighbors garden. That started me coin collection. So I guess it was an unlucky coin. :/

I found a 1941/2 overdate Mercury in a $1000 bag of face coins. would pick out the best and would sell the face back to the dealer at 10% under my cost. That was IN THE 80'S when siver was $18/OZ JUST DOWN FROM $50!!
