Can you please tell me something about this coin. I read on another thread that a 20 mils from 1941 was rarer. Of course, this is a 5 mils and I dont know anything about its quality but was wondering if the same rings true for a 5 mils from 1941. Thank you.

Howdy Billy,
Greetings to the land down under, haven't heard lately but I hope the fires are dead. Tough ordeal for you folks, way too many hurt.

Regarding your 5 mils (KM#3, CN), you are correct, 1941 is a good year. Mintage is listed as 400,000, lowest of the entire 5 mils issue. Value listed in the Krause 32nd Ed. as F-$10, VF-$20, XF-$35, UNC-$175. This coin was around to witness the birth of Israel, all the Palestine issues were demonetized by Israel in 1948. Best year to possess, nice find.

Thanks for the information re: the coin. Thanks also for your sentiments re: the bushfires. One friend lost his house. Sad times, but Aussies are a tough lot, they will band together and get through it. Thanks again.
