Is MAC a respectable coin grading/authentication service? Its website states:

MAC will apply to all modern issue coins, like the way CAC pertains to traditional coins. If your coin is MACABLE it means you have a modern coin of "PQ"- premium quality that is usually SPOTLESS if after 1960.

For those coins that meet MAC's standards, a MAC sticker is placed on the coin slab.

@hid, as a general rule, please don't post web addresses. You don't appear to be trying to promote this TPG with your thread, so I have left it, but this is a very touchy subject.

Your question has been posed previously. Here is a link to one of the previous threads:

I wouldn't regard their sticker as adding any value. Their website (in my opinion) seems amateurish and a hodgepodge of coins for sale on ebay or otherwise. Almost like a garage sale of sorts.

MAC isn't a grading service it's a sticker service kind of like CAC, or WINGS but nowhere near as accepted. I don't know if he started it or if he was just associated with the business but it is another Alan Hagar enterprise.

No.

The idea was to have stickers to denote enhancements such as finest known, but also is extended to finer gradations. 4.5 steps, not 5 full steps.

The individual who is now president has a colourful history in the industry.
