Found a rare bird, in my nickel bank roll I found A 1953 S Nickel with the mint mark to the right of Monticello. The coin obviously spent time in the ground as it is dirty and heavly corroded. I have three pics obverse, reverse and one more obverse to show the true color. The first two I used the big light to show the date and mint mark. There were only 19,200,900 minted so it is a miracle to find one in circulation. Let me know your thoughts and Regards

Well, given with a lower mintage still a corroded, most likely buried in ground at one time find, but yes it is fun finding these.

really? If for only a temp hole filler I guess, I would be out looking for another if I needed one for an album.

Indeed it is a nice find in circulation (or was it dug up at some point?)
Now, if it were a '51-S or better yet a 1950-D found in circulation, I would be dancing in the street.
Rest in Peace

Please crop pics a bit better...thanks.
You might want to use a 14% gray scale background.
