im pretty sure I got this one right on my 1949 S penny its a woody penny right

If is a mild example. But the dark spots makes it just a Wheat cent. They are called carbon spots, and they will continue to get worse with age.

Better realistic photos might show differently but I don't think it's a woody .

if it is a woody, it is a weak one. I don't see any evidence of it on the reverse - which tells me no.

Those aren't carbon spots, that's full-blown corrosion.

Very cool find and yes it's a woody, these are like snowflakes, one of a kind, you may find similar but they are always a little different. You have a sheet of different alloys, that sometimes are not mixed correctly, for what ever reason, that the planchets are punched out of and the mix is different, throughout this sheet, swirling and so on, like snowflakes, all are a little different. The different mix, as it is on the face of the sheet, is also different throughout the sheet, top to bottom, so your coin came from a planchet, that was different, from top to bottom, too, the bottom being more normal.
