Those 1988 tall ship coins are nice.

Obviously put back in circulation after spending a long time out of it.

Commemorative 50 Cent coins are easy to spot in pocket change.
When you find one, just throw it into a 2 litre jar. It took me about 3 years to fill such a jar with 50 Cent commemoratives.

When the jar was full, I took out two each of the best examples of each design and formed quit a nice collection, the poorer examples went back into circulation, paying for fuel for my car., or wherever else that still prefers cash, such as take away food outlets, etc.

Cost of the collection? face value.
CRH'ing would obviously speed up the process.
