I recently acquired a 1926-S Buffalo nickel, and I wanted to get the opinions of fellow CoinCommunity members on the grade of the coin. (P.S. my phone broke, so I had to resort to my old phone for pictures...it looks better in hand).

I'll say low VF sharpness, ED detracts.

Fine at best. I believe the TPG's are going back to the older grading standards. If you can't see the point on the horn it can't grade VF.

Can't really grade with those photos. John1

F-15 seems possible. The spots hurt eye appeal a little but shouldn't dictate a details grade.

Harder to grade based on the pictures but F-15 seems about right

Quote: If you can't see the point on the horn it can't grade VF. cant say that on buffs minted at the SF mint, especially before 27. you need to look at all the components combined. I do agree with those at F15

Thanks for the opinions, everyone! I was at F-15 myself, but given the sizable price gap between a F and VF grade, I figured it would be worthwhile to see if anybody thought it could squeeze a VF.

I think that it would grade F details due to environmental damage
