this post is basically for grospoisson and Badthad. found this 41S that graded MS67RD. take a close look at this one. is this one you would send it in hopes of returning a 67? Are they serious? at best i'd call this one 65RD

Wow, surprising to me. A 65 tops to me as well.

In that case, I've got about 5000 wheats I need to send in. Maybe I'll get a 68 or 69 out of one.

I haven't seen grospoisson lately..seems like a good lad.
I have no idea how this graded 67.
Agree 65 tops

I'm not an expert on this series - but to my eye the distracting hit in the right obverse field down from Lincoln chin makes a joke of the slabbed MS67 grade.

They must have slipped a $100 under the flip.
Keep in mind, accurately grading from a couple of pictures is really not possible at 66 up....at least not for me. GP had some coins he posted here that he sent me and my grades were 2-3 points higher than anyone in the forum guessed. That said, it certainly doesn't look worthy of a 67 grade. I've sent in a few 67's and they came back 66 - they were ALL nicer than this coin.

Besides the holder style...sure do wish they would put the "date graded" some place on the holder... would at least give a window of how and why... frustrating to say the least... If submitted by grospoisson...MS-65 aghh smat

Typical of an NGC ms67 for ya, why I won't touch their holders in the Lincoln series

Quote: Typical of an NGC ms67 for ya, why I won't touch their holders in the Lincoln series i wasnt aware of NGC's loose grading standards for Lincolns. getting that grade from PCGS is quite elusive and BadThad is correct that grading anything 66 and up from photos is throwing darts and is more a guessing game and even if you have one that looks better than any of those graded at the level is no assurance it would come back with the grade. so the bottom line is, is it worth it to spend the $$ to throw the dice on these inconsistent grading standard interpretations.
