I have 50 pieces of 1 0z. silver bars, w/ 24 karat gold plating. 50 pieces of silver weigh 1,555 grams. My total weight of silver w/ 24 karat gold plating is 1,609 grams. Am I to assume that I have 54 grams in gold weight?

Going with that assumption, you would have about 1 gram of gold per ounce of silver- the gold would be worth more than the silver itself. Plating is normally a very thin layer, not 3% of the total weight. Do the bars have a hallmark? If they do not, I think it would be a safer assumption to say that these bars are not .999 silver.

What do you mean by hallmark. If you mean are they marked .999 fine silver and 24 karat gold, then the answer is yes.
