i have a 1946 S penny and on adverse of the coin why is the L&I missing in liberty plus the 46 in 1946 is almost gone and on the reverse of the coin the epluribus the P&L is all but gone

The dates on the 1946 cents were weak on the business strike cents. (there were no proof cents that year)
