Hello everyone. I just got this coin and based on my grading it's an XF-45 but it would be nice to have some more people look at it and share their opinions.

I would be more inclined to grade it as a VF-35 due to the wear on the hair, and around the shields on the reverse.

I'm in the EF-45 camp. Most attractive.

Badly cleaned and attempt at removing old toning.

More worn than you guys think. Not even VF on the British scale and no more than VF25 on the American one. Heavy wear on shield edges, maces blur into shields. Lack of detail on crowns at the sides (orb detail blended).

aVF details - harshly cleaned

Worth scrap only in a British context. 1929 and 1930 are easy dates to get in EF or better.

My one I grade a very high gVF (Sheldon 40) and this has some staining. Notice the detail on the maces and crowns - orb detail etc.

George is still flattish (And why the coin is not EF), however notoriously poor strikes on British coins of this period are typical and well struck royal portraits attract a premium.
