I do notice the edges but would sanding it down cause that circle in the center of the quarter? Are there any strike errors etc that could cause that?

First it is not Louisiana it is Kisatchie 2015. Second: the coins past hard time been grinded. Third : the meddle will show what it is when we can see the other side of the coin, in order to say what it is. Sorry if I disappointed you. I will try to spend where they will accept.

Oh sorry I said Louisiana because that's what is on the coin also. I am attaching an image of the front side of the coin. There is no mark or indention. I also agree it's grind down. But I want to be sure before throwing it back in the pile.

to the CCF! As noted, this is just Post Mint Damage. Someone has etched, sanded or scrubbed the surface down leaving what you have now. While it cannot be said for certain what caused the circular area at the center of the coin. It looks like an imprint of a pad from a workshop clamp to me, but that would be a wild guess on my part.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

to the CCF It looks like there is a couple things going on with your coin. First it looks like someone has taken a punch of some sort and hit the middle of the reverse. You can see the damage on the obverse, it's a little pushed out. The rest of your coin has been sanded or ground down. Why, who knows. People do a lot of strange things.
