Interesting Denominations Kreuzer - Coin Community Forum

DrPeper23 Valued Member United States 63 Posts	Posted 08/01/2022 9:47 pm So, I am making a list of Habsburg coins and I noticed some seemingly weird denomination in Kreuzer. They dont seem to have been issued for many years, see below for each, but I was curious why they would been made at all. They seem inconvenient, unless there was a specific thing that cost that amount like a tax. 17 Austrian Kreuzer - 17/60 of a Gulden - 1750-1763 17 Hungarian Krajczár - 17/120 of a Thaller - 1763-1764 7 Austrian Kreuzer - 7/60 of a Gulden - 1751-1778 The other denominations are: 1/4, 1/2 (and 5/10), 1,3,5,10,20,30 Kreuzer. Which are all divisors of 60 and make sense.
