Yea looks similar to a second strike but the reverse tells the story.

Yep...Post Minting Damage ( PMD)...the reverse looks like it was on the sidewalk when the obverse was struck.

Turns out it isn't PMD it, it is brockage. Good thing I didn't toss this one. Maybe a low grade but a 1st brockage for me.

There is a partial of a reverse side in the area on the obverse side. You can see the AM and a little bit of the E from United States of America but backwards in the photo. I didn't notice it until now.

I looked at a lot of PCGS graded dimes with brockage and there are some that have the exact same characteristics as this.

Not a brokage, it is damage. Read up on what a true brokage is.
Maybe someone has tried to create a brokage error but didn't succeed.
