Congratulations to everyone which pointed out the fake coin. The seller stopped the auction and took the coin off the market.

At least for this moment. Will change the name, go to other platform for selling and also find an on line Auction and put there like Altair. So this will not stop fast and many will take the bait. Look Canada with 2 $ fake coins, 1932 dollar and 50 cent and also gold bullion, etc. Look at EU 200 euro note, was took out from circulation due to the fake notes which surpass the number of the notes printed and design to be banks assets and business currency, Is sad but the real is present.

If come from the manufacture I know for replicas there, the silver must be 925. After my second course for detection of replicas stamps, notes and coins made in China in Beijing, the teacher give me the address to visit. I was pleased to can buy the max admitted to take out from China in time of 2000 fake Morgan's at 26 gr 925 silver which cost me .4 $ CAD each. When I come back I took some photos and then send to RCM for melting. The cost of the travel and the 2 courses was payed back.

My personal experience with ebay is that it is very lax about fraud. At most they will take down an auction.

I reported fraud to my local police. I was sent a (non-numismatic) counterfeit item. And ebay has a special channel for law enforcement. The local police said ebay was difficult to work with and ebay did nothing. A lot of it has to do with jurisdiction - in my case too, the sellers were in China.

To solve the problem, ebay always falls back on its money-back guarantee and their attitude "Yes, we know there is crime, but we can't stop it. What we can do is just give you your money back."

Congratulations. Keep at it. This is a game of whack a mole. He will just keep peddling the same items using new likes or accounts until someone it's it.

It would be easy for PCGS to note a coin has counterfeits on the site if someone looked it up.

I don't know if PCGS has done that but at one time NGC was doing it.

Now it makes me wonder how many coins are making it in.

Unfortunately probably a LOT more than are being caught. You can put a LOT of stuff in a shipping container, and tens of thousands of such containers come into the country every day. Customs can't really do any more than the occasional spot check unless they have been specifically tipped off about a specific shipment.
