Looking good!  The 6th has hit another roadblock. If this 7th topic can stay consistent, it should catch up by the first week May. So anyone holding out for an 8th, check back in four months.  |

Hopefully I dropped a 1415 there today, but I think it will block again soon. The Ox moves slowly, but the Earth is patient.

My next entry after 1452 is 1387, and I'm not sure if I'd be posting it in the 7th or 8th edition, but probably not the 6th (and I wouldn't rule out the 9th or 10th - the 1390s are very hard). Honestly it feels absolutely ridiculous that we're even considering dates in this range. My first few attempts to figure out which dates we need had ended the list somewhere in the 1430s because anything after that was just too impenetrable. |

Hey thx @mrw. The Hungarians must have made a bajillion of Denars in the 16th century, because these things are always readily available for not much money. I paid less than $9 for that one about 20 years ago. In a quick search of ma-shops right now I'm seeing several from the mid-16th century for $25 and less.

Whether it's inflation or increased collector demand, they are not quite so cheap any more, but still amazing that you can get a 450 year old artifact in nice condition for the price of a pizza and a beer. I'll start 1540 with this 4 stuivers coin of the County of Flanders.   |
