There you go 2000 and something pixels, mine are mostly 300 x 300 for a single coin and 500length by whatever width for pairs. 1971 was another non descript year for New Zealand, every coin was released, although it was the first circulation 50 cents since 1967. 50 cents was still worth something in 1971 (2 or 3 pitchers of beer). Another uncirculated set. Big Dollar was the el plaino Coat of Arms design, although this was the first reuse of it. But we are going backwards rather than forwards. 1971 was the big year of the recoinage in UK and Ireland as they adopted decimal currency, although the new decimal pound was worth the same as a predecimal one. A shilling was 5 new pence and the ½d, 1d, 3d coins were obselete overnight. The half crown went the way of History in 1969 (the 1970 coin was a set only one). Here are some Irish ones from the 2020 thread, but its best that NumisRob tells us that story! The 3 lower values had Irish mythological birds and creatures and were fresh designs that did not recycle the ones of Metcalfe from 1928.

Yes - the world changed overnight for UK collectors on February 15, 1971 when these three coins entered circulation and there was no longer any chance to get rare coins like the 1869 penny or 1949 threepence in change... The mintages of 1971 bronze coins was so huge that the date '1971' was really dominant in circulation for many years. No new coins were made for circulation in 1972 and the 2p was not reissued until 1975. Even today, 1971 is the most common date in circulation for 2p coins! Old 1d and 3d coins remained legal tender until the end of August, but you had to make them up to 6d - equivalent to two-and-a-half new pence. I remember giving my dad a 3d piece and three pennies to make up the amount to pay a road toll in July 1971, and that was the last time I ever spent an old penny or a threepenny bit. The old sixpence won a reprieve owing to the number of slot machines that needed changing, but it effectively disappeared from circulation by the end of the year, although it was not officially demonetised until 1980. One result of the massive coin issue in 1971 was that quite a few mis-strikes were found in change, such as this clipped 2p... The Channel Islands and Isle of Man issued their own distinctive decimal coins - here is a Manx 50p: Guernsey decimal penny: Gibraltar didn't issue a full set of its own currency in 1971, but released a crown-size 25 pence coin:
