Yes they can, and American Eagles tone pretty nice some times too...

Only one that is even to be considered to be toned in my collection... it may be hard to discriminate, it's along the inside rims, probably old album toning.

I just got this Neon Kennedy that looks like it was in the same type of holder!

I got mine out of a 20th century typeset holder that hangs on the wall.

desertgem, those are definitely artificial but if you like them then good. I would just be careful on ebay.
